Polystyrene
Polystyrene (PS) or Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) has good impact resistance, is lightweight and can be warm to the touch with good insulation properties. It is used for trays, egg boxes, lids and sandwich wedges in crystal/transparent form and can be thermoformed into pots for dairy products as well cups and beakers for example for drink vending machines.
Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) is an innovative material which has excellent impact resistance and is widely used as a protective packaging for goods in transit. This extremely light isothermic material can be moulded into complex shapes and offers good hygiene and insulation protection. It is used in a wide variety of applications from cups for hot drinks to transit boxes for the protection of human organs for transplant. It is also widely used in building insulation and as a forme for civil engineering projects.
