Thermoforming
The process cycle at the heart of all thermoforming is the heating, forming and cooling of the plastic film or sheet material. There are three basic thermoforming processes: vacuum forming; pressure forming and press moulding. All of these use a combination of heat and pressure to create the finished shape. In food packaging, many trays for fruit, meat, fish and other produce are formed using industrialised high speed thermoforming processes.
