Trays and Flexible Containers

Trays and other flexible plastic containers play an important role in food packaging overall and especially the protection of fragile goods such as biscuits and confectionery to items which easily bruise such as soft fruit. They are also an essential component of controlled or modified atmosphere packaging (CAP and MAP) ensuring that our fish, meat, and fresh produce stay fresher and last longer on the shelf and in our homes – greatly reducing the risk of food poisoning outbreaks.

Trays use a variety of polymers such as PVC, PET , PP and EPS to provide a purpose-designed transit and storage solution for a vast range of products. They can be thermoformed to include compartments of varying sizes and shapes to protect specific products, and are usually secured with plastic film to complete the protection and preservation process.

Flexible Containers can be made in a vast variety of shapes and sizes and serve many purposes. These include protection from impact or contamination, through to acting as a deterrent to pilfering or theft for high value items.

Through pack design innovation and the development of new polymer formulations, our industry can produce a ready-made or tailored solution for every packaging need.
